Dr. Terry Agber
Lecturer in Economics
University of Manchester
I teach economics to 400 students a year. I'd much rather help one teenager love learning.
About Terry
I research inequality and development, and teach first-year economics. I help teenagers choose courses and universities with clear heads and big ambitions.
Ask me about
- 01What economics is really about
- 02Choosing a university course you'll love
- 03Reading beyond the syllabus
- 04Student finance without the panic
- 05Arguing well — with evidence
My story
I came to the UK at seventeen for university and had to learn everything at once — the slang, the cold, the student loan system.
I mentor because choosing a university is one of the biggest financial decisions a young person makes, and most do it on vibes.
Ask 'why' one more time than feels polite.
